BarCampBankSanFrancisco (BCBSF) is like a day long versrion of going out to lunch with a bunch of really smart people who share your passion for finance and innovation.
It's designed to foster discussions on the future of financial services, particularly related to banking. The program is informal and the sessions are created the morning of the event, based on what participants want to discuss. This helps keep the agenda relevant and also allows people to more easily connect with those who have similar interests.
There will be folks attending from startups, financial services companies and the media.
So that you can see some of the folks who will be coming and figure out who you want to connect with before the event, we've put up a seperate site for networking:
Last year, BarCampBankSeattle was by all accounts a success. This year at BCBSF, we're focusing on bringing startups and financial services professionals together. The event is slated for all day on Saturday 3/29 and half day on 3/30 (if there is sufficient interest).
The venue is on the UC Berkeley campus, in the Wozniak Lounge at Soda Hall (near the intersection of Hearst and Euclid). Registration will start at 9am on Saturday. Street parking on the weekends is free and from the Downtown Berkeley BART station it's about a 20 minute walk.
